Atmospheric Ventures / Est. 2020
We work directly with leadership teams inside complex, high-stakes environments. Strategy, operations, government market access, and execution — with people who have actually done the job.
How we workWe partner with early-stage companies, growth-stage operators, and institutional organizations. Our work spans three modes — and most engagements touch more than one.
Defense agencies, federal departments, and national laboratories allocate significant funding each year to companies developing technology and services aligned with government priorities. Most of it goes unclaimed — not because companies don't qualify, but because they don't know where to look or how to navigate the process.
We help companies identify which funding mechanisms apply, structure competitive pursuit strategies, and develop the relationships and materials required to win. This is not a shortcut — it is a long-term market access strategy.
Most advisors have never held the role they are advising on. We have. We have been the fractional COO accountable for execution when a system is down, the business development lead building relationships inside government procurement offices, and the program manager responsible for a complex aerospace contract.
We keep a small number of active engagements by design. That means when we take on a client, we are actually present — not delegating to a junior team or running a recycled playbook.
We work across early-stage startups, growth-stage companies, and institutional environments — including government-adjacent and PE-backed organizations.

The Team
Atmospheric Ventures was built by operators who have designed, scaled, and run companies in complex, high-stakes environments. We work directly with founders and leadership teams — not as passive investors, but as partners in building real businesses.
Jamie is a co-founder and managing partner of Atmospheric Ventures. He brings deep operating experience across early-stage ventures, with a track record of building teams and go-to-market functions from the ground up.
He has worked across technology, aerospace, and health, taking on fractional executive roles when companies need senior leadership without the overhead of a full-time hire.
Peter is a co-founder and managing partner of Atmospheric Ventures. He brings a cross-functional background spanning operations, strategy, and venture, with experience operating inside complex, high-reliability environments.
He has worked across aerospace and government program environments — including work alongside Saratoga Group — focused on acquisitions, program execution, and operating within institutional systems that don't tolerate guesswork. He applies that same rigor to the early-stage and growth-stage companies he advises and operates within, across aerospace, technology, software, and artificial intelligence.
